The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) hosted workshops and other events at RE+ 2022, a clean energy industry conference that took place September 19-22 in Anaheim, California. SETO staff participated in education and show floor sessions, highlighting the office''s efforts to drive innovation, lower costs, and support the transition to a decarbonized power sector by 2035 and a decarbonized economy by 2050.

Winners Announced for Solar Prize Round 5SETO DirectorDr. Becca Jones-Albertus announced the five winners of the American-Made Solar Prize Round 5! DOE awarded $500,000 each to two teams in the hardware track, $200,000 each to two teams in the software track, and $100,000 to a software team for expanding solar access to underserved communities.

Interconnection Innovation e-Xchange (i2X) Workshopi2Xis a new program aiming to develop innovative solutions to enable faster, simpler, and fairer interconnection of solar energy, wind energy, and energy storage, while enhancing the reliability and resilience of our nation''s distribution and transmission grid networks.SETO''s Michele Boyd and Ammar Qusaibaty hosted a workshop on the first day of the conference, giving attendees a "First Look at DOE''s i2X 5-year Strategic Roadmap."
