The customer signs a power purchase agreement at mutually agreed tariff and tenure. At the end of the contract of period, the ownership of the solar power system is transferred to the customer at free cost or and agreed buy-out value.

Moreover, they can reduce diesel consumption while operating the generators during power cuts, and also enjoy cooler roof thanks to the shade from solar panel.

Shwe Taung Group has won 3 of the 30 ground-mounted solar power tender projects initiated by the Myanmar Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE).
The company said it was the only Myanmar group to win three projects as a major developer and major shareholder.
The three solar power plants located in Aungqiangtar, Niyang Binyi and Aung Tao, with a total generating capacity of 100 megawatts, will provide electricity to the Myanmar grid through renewable energy.
On December 30, 2020, Shwe Taung was approved by the Myanmar Investment Commission for the Nyaungpingyi and Aungchanthar power plants, each of which holds 97% of the shares.
These factories are currently under construction and are expected to start operations in the second quarter of this year.
Last year, power generation companies under the Ministry of Railways bid for the construction of ground-based solar power plants in 30 locations across the country for a period of 20 years, construction-operation-own. About 155 proposals (mostly Chinese) were submitted to all 30 locations, and some key locations received as many as 13 proposals.
Shwe Taung said that in addition to the 100 MW solar project under construction, it is also actively exploring new renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, including solar, hydropower and waste-to-energy projects.
It is now a leading developer of renewable energy projects, generating more than 180 megawatts of energy at different stages of feasibility and development. It has the largest commercial and industrial distributed solar power product portfolio in Myanmar's operations and uses solar energy to power some of its real estate projects. These include the intersection square in Yangon, the intersection center, Naypyidaw, and Naypyidaw Park. Shwe Taung designs, builds and pays for the investment cost of rooftop solar systems and provides energy-saving solutions for building owners.
Another 10 MW distributed solar energy is being developed in various projects, including the AEON shopping mall, a large shopping mall to be built in Dagon Seikkan Township, Yangon.
